Book>Movie

This past weekend Jon and I were visiting his family and found ourselves wandering around Barnes and Noble while waiting on a very hard to come by table at a nearby restaurant. I never read Jane Eyre in high school or college and it's been on my reading list for quite some time. Especially now that a new movie version is about to come out. Must read before movie. Must.

So we (Art director + lover of girly classic novels) were both excited to find this on Saturday :

It's so lovely. Can't wait to read it...after I read Water for Elephants. Book before movie!

For my overflowing bookshelf...

this would be a good idea. I have too many books and even at school my classroom library is overflowing. Love these invisible floating shelves.

Work of Art-Book Covers

Okay, I was really skeptical of this show and still am to some extent. However, I loved last night's challenge: create cover art for 6 Penguin Classic Novels. As someone who goes to used book stores and selects books based on cover art this was perfect. I know, I know, don't judge a book by it's cover but if I'm going to buy a book and leave it on my bookshelf I want it to look good! And no Kindle, Nook, etc. for me! I'll take a good used book with someone else's notes and doodles over electronic convenience any day.

Oh, and I wanted to hit the girl who misspelled Jane Austen.

Here are some of my bookshelf favorites (and favorite reads!):
