Sailors Delight
Despite the forecast predicting winter weather for the next few days, I can't stop looking at these lovely nautical inspired spring looks:

Snow Day #3
For Snow Day #1 and 2 I stayed in mostly besides the grocery store and coffee. I was working on a cake which also meant I had to stay in. Today was an optional workday but after being inspired by a few fellow teachers' statuses on facebook I decided I wasn't going in. Instead, I had a lovely afternoon out which started off with my favorite lunch at Hap's.
Then I wondered down to the antique store and picked up these little lovelies:

They even seem to shine up my worn out black flats that I was wearing to run around downtown in. I found a few other great pieces that I'm going to be working on transforming coming up soon.
My facebook friend had said she was going to go see a movie on her optional workday so I decided to do the same and was pleasantly surprised to see that "The Young Victoria" was playing in town! I'm a sucker for period films and especially ones that have been nominated for an Oscar for best costumes. I wasn't disappointed! She was is a bit of a fashion icon after all being that she set the trend for brides to wear white wedding gowns. And the hair accessories...sigh...
Although I'm sure it will be back to work tomorrow, I could really get used to having a day like today more often. Once a month wouldn't be too much to ask would it?

Costume Jewelry Makeovers
I read this article in Blueprint a few years ago and thought "I can so make these" but then of course never did. But I saw it again on Martha's website and I am pretty sure I really need a belt like hers! This weekend I'm digging through my jewelry boxes and walking 3 blocks to the antique store. Even in the snow. Have I ever mentioned how great it is living 3 blocks from a huge antique store is?
Oh, and this is another great example of good curly hair and red lips!

haircut envy
I've talked about this before but on the eve of getting my hair cut I am reminded once again: it rarely occurs that I find cute hair that would actually work for me. Good curly hairstyles are so hard to come by. Especially since most pictures of curly hair you come across feature models who do not have naturally curly hair and I have no intention of ever using a curling iron. Don't even get me started at how Taylor Swift's curls could never look like that naturally...
But how cute is this girl?!?!
I'm fully aware that this is pretty close to the haircut I normally get anyhow but I still think this version is slightly different. And these nautical photos remind me of a short hair version of my mom in high school :)
